The Reverend Dean Crimdon was born bread (and buttered) on the dark side on the edge of town (that is West View in Hartlepool, England). After a meteoric Karaoke career in the hotspots ‘over West’, Dean recruited a bunch of proper Wimmin and some blokes who had got guitars for Christmas to back his musical endeavours. This culminated in the recording of some of Dean’s favourite tunes which he has foisted upon an unsuspecting public.

• 18th Century ish – the great great great (etc) grandfather of H’Angus, is serving as ships mascot on the French ship Platini when it is wrecked off the coast of Hartlepool with Le H’Anguis being the only survivor. The canny locals, claim not to understand what he is saying, brand him a French spy and he is duly tried and hung, enabling them to claim the ships cargo as booty (not before he meets a local lass who has his lovechild) From now on all Hartlepudlians will forever be known as ‘Monkey Hangers’.
• 1897 and onwards – Hartlepool becomes that most sociable of rugby union towns being home to: Hartlepool Rovers, West Hartlepool, Hartlepool (Old Boys), Hartlepool Athletic, Seaton Carew, West Hartlepool Technical Day School Old Boys RFC (longest name in the world for a rugby club) and Horden!  – All of these recruit various offspring of Le H’Anguis as their mascot.
• 1910 Hartlepool United Football Club is formed.
• 1966 – Hartlepool lass Evelyn Harrison gains some notoriety when she sets up the ‘Evelyn Harrison’s Lonely Hearts Club’, and is featured in national Sunday papers. This is avidly read by Paul McCartney who has an idea for the Beatles next L.P (this has nothing to do with H’Angus however).
• 1967 – Hartlepool FC get their first ever promotion (which is immediately followed by their first ever relegation).
• 1970’s – Hartlepool United hold record for most re elections (all successful) back into the football league, and most own goals in season (centre half John Gill).
• 1972 – Never Say Die/Who Put Sugar in My Tea single released to raise funds for Hartlepool FC.
• 1970’s Australian rock group AC-DC release Whole Lotta Rosie as a celebration of a fulsome woman of that name. Geordie singer Brian Johnson duly joins the band.
• 1990’s H’Angus gets job at Hartlepool United Football as match day mascot. The ‘Angus’ chant from the opening section of the live version of Whole Lotta Rosie is subsequently played before and during matches as H’Angus whips up the crowd.
• 1990’s onwards Hartlepool United begins the most successful period in its history by getting promoted for secornd time.
• 1992 The Candy Ranch release ‘Up and Away’ to celebrate Hartlepool’s second ever promotion
• H’Angus’ antics at home and away matches lead to a certain notoriety and he is banned from several away clubs.
• Brian Johnson attends the occasional Hartlepool United football match and even sponsors one.
• 2003 H’Angus is elected in the first Mayoral elections held in Hartlepool (after offering free bananas for all) and is managed by former call centre worker Stuart Drummond.
• 2005 – The Dean Crimdon Dimension produce a fundraising CD of songs to raise funds for the Hartlepool United Disabled Supporters Association. The title track is a version of Whole Lotta Rosie, converting it into ‘Whole Lotta Poolie’ as a celebration of H’Angus the Monkey. And it is rather good.
