Starmakers and Svengalis by Johnny Rogan is a fine read, about the early artist pop and rock managers: from Larry Parnes, Don Arden, Tony Stratton Smith through to Malcolm McClaren, full of hilarious and occasional tragic anecdotes. Amongst these are featured snippets on the careers of Skip Bifferty, Bell and Arc (Graeme Bell with future Blockheads Micky Gallagher and John Turnbull), and of course the rise and rise of Lindisfarne.
