Boys Will Be Boys

In 2011 I convened with Gavin and Jason to run through a bunch of song ideas. We enjoyed it so much we convened twice! Then we booked a day in a recording studio to rattle them off (drums, bass, guide guitar and guide vocals). It was only later that a technical glitch was discovered which appeared to make the recordings unusable. A trifle dismayed I stored them away and after a bit of soul searching went on to the next project.  However In 2021, following the Beatles Get Back Documentary, music software became available which enabled me to begin reconstructing the faulty recordings. Suddenly it all came together and an 11 Song album was completed. Here are some notes regarding the songs:

God is With Me considering that when pressed I declare myself as atheist I don’t know what compelled me to start singing that refrain (or banana!).

Did I Hear You another rant on that recurring theme. Considering some of the greatest pop songs have comprised 2 or 3 chords, Gavin liked the challenge of this one as it has 12 chords in it!

Dat’s Love I grew up loving the Carmen Jones film which was a retelling of the Carmen opera reset in the fifties.
